SUZAKUNU

SuzakuNU was registered back in 1999 and officially launched on the 1st of January, 2000 as an animanga and gaming domain. It hosted an array on topic related websites on both specific characters and series. Some of the sites can still be viewed under the “Websites” tab accessible from above. Most of these sites have been dormant for many years now and most likely will not longer be updated.

The name “suzaku” originated from the series Fushigi Yuugi, and stands for “phoenix”.

Today SuzakuNU functions primarily as a gaming blog (and perhaps will host websites on day) and is mainly run by eXmotion / Flipper, Hairymuppet and brainshard.

BLOGGERS

eXmotion
The primary author and web master of this domain, eXmotion has a long gaming history, dating back to the early 90s when she received her first gaming console, a Sega Mega Drive & Mega CD where many years were spent playing Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as a massive array of Fighter, Action, Adventure, Strategy, RPG and Racer games. She has played on almost all modern consoles such as Sony’s Playstation 1 / 2 / 3, Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360 & DS Lite, some of her favourite games were Final Fantasy, Need for Speed, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter & Cooking Mama. Currently she favours the Guitar on Expert for the Rock band series on her 360, but is hoping to transition over to the Keyboard for Rock Band 3, given she is a pianist outside of gaming.

However eXmotion has always been a PC Gamer at heart, and since leaving high school has put in most of her time and energy (and $$$) into PC Games and maintaining her PC. Some of her favourite games are/were Ragnarok Online as a lvl 99 Priest, World of Warcraft as a lvl 80 mage, Counter Strike, Command and Conquer, Red Alert, Age of Empire, Mafia, The SIMS, StarCraft, Frozen Throne: Dota and many more. Her current obsession is playing Random in StarCraft 2, which is where the majority of her spare time goes into.

Outside of gaming, eXmotion works in IT, is a cosplayer and runs a fashion / makeup blog.

Hairymuppet
Hairymuppet’s gaming days started whilst playing side scrollers on an Atari, soon moving on to the original Mario Brothers on the Nintendo. When it comes to consoles however Hairy dominates the drums on Expert for Rock Band with his 360.

On the PC, Hairy currently plays as a Platinum player as Random for StarCraft 2 and has several lvl 80 characters on World of Warcraft. He does have much experience in other real time strategies like Star Craft, Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Age of Empire as well as First Person Shooters like Counter Strike and Team Fortress.

Check out his Youtube Channel for some of his Star Craft 2 strategy tutorials.

Outside of gaming, Hairy works in IT and is working towards potentially becoming a pro gamer.

brainshard
Brainshard grew up with some of the the first personal computers available to the average user, playing early day space games and flipper machine simulators in gorgeous interlaced orange on black. Through magentic tape computers, the amazing C64, the Amiga and a series of PCs from the Intel 286 to his current E8400, he developed a strong interest in computer hardware as well as programming, video games and their development.

When games like Doom, Duke Nuken 3d and Warcraft appeared on the stage, he didn’t think twice about drilling a massive hole into the wall of his room (much to the horror of his parents) so he could lie down a serial cable to network together with his brother and play for weeks on end.
Besides PC games, he also developed an unhealthy addiction to the SNES and encountered the game he still considers to probably be the best RPG ever: Zelda – A Link to the Past.
He would admit that Final Fantasy 7 probably comes close though.

Brainshard worked for 3 years as professional video games developer and while he since moved on to a different IT position, his passion for video games, mainly PC games and RPGs has never subsided. He always finds some time to play Fallout 3, the latest Left 4 Dead DLC, Starcraft 2, humorous point and click adventures or casual games.

Outside gaming and work, Brainshard is a singer / song writer and enjoys playing most sports.
