The anime version of Full Moon commenced on the 6th of April, 2002 at 7:30 and finished on the 29th of march, 2003. It was broadcasted by TV Tokyo, the station also responsible for airing such anime as Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran, Fruit Basket, Gensoumaden Saiyuki, Slayer and many more. It was directed by Toshiyuki Kato. A total of 52 episodes was aired.

While initially the anime begun much like the manga, it once Mitsuki's first audition, it took a path of it's own. The anime series ended before the manga (despite starting after) and concluded differently.
